About This Project:
This year we challenge you—our proud alumni (and fans!) —to a different type of relay than you once knew. No time in the pool is required! Instead, you’re invited to take an active role in our teams’ success by participating in the program's first-ever “100 x 100 Relay Campaign.” The goal of this fundraiser is to raise one hundred $100 gifts over the course of the next 100 days. With your help, we aim to raise $10,000 (or more) to support Rowan University Swimming and Diving athletes.

How Does Your Support Help?

Every winter the Swimming & Diving teams pack their bags for a week-long training trip in warm, sunny Florida. This trip, which has historically been funded by the individual athletes, is an integral part of the team building process and has positively shaped the culture of the swimming and diving programs for decades. By making a gift, you will help subsidize the cost of this trip and minimize any expenses incurred by our student athletes.

Funds raised will directly cover the cost of the following:
  • Round trip airfare
  • Beach-front hotel accommodations and fees
  • Training facility rentals
  • All additional transportation costs, including motor coach and van rentals

Student and Alumni Testimonials

“Training trip is more about mental toughness than physical strength. For myself and many others, the atmosphere of being in a new training location helps us remember our goals, both for ourselves and for the team. I've found that toward the middle of the season it can be easy to get lost in practices, but this trip is the perfect way to refocus and gain clarity for the season’s second half. More importantly, training trip helps to bond the team in a new way. We build connections with each other that reach far beyond the pool and we truly embrace what it means to be "all in" for each other. I learned my furthered commitment to the team was the best outcome of training trip because I had found a reason bigger than myself to give.”

“As a former Rowan University swimmer for the 1994 and 1995 seasons, during winter breaks we would all travel to Florida as a team to train at Ft. Lauderdale Swimming Hall Of Fame. It was an inspiration to train there knowing that many Olympic swimmers trained there and it was also a nice change of pace. It brought our team together and was a great bonding experience for everyone.”

"Choosing to swim for Rowan University and Coach Tony Lisa remains one of the best decisions I've made in my life. My favorite time of year was coming back from winter break knowing that the focus for the next few weeks would be squarely on training. The best part of that training block was our annual trip to Fort Lauderdale in January. Words cannot express the importance of a training trip and what it means for team chemistry. The dinners and excursions were always fun and appreciated, but it was the intensity of training and certain sets we came to expect (and dislike) that helped us come together as a program."
