Engaging With and Embodying Anti-Racist Service (Dr. Jo Murphy)
Presented by the Rowan University Office of Social Justice, Inclusion and Conflict Resolution

This one-hour workshop will encourage participants to deeply reflect upon why they want to serve.By asking "why," we can reflect upon the idea of service in various communities and what we can—and more importantly, should—offer to those in need. This session will also highlight the ways in which we can engage in sustainable service to embody anti-racism.
Mental Health/Wellness/Well-Being Support Check-In
Presented by the Rowan University Wellness Center

Our emotional well-being and mental health is challenged every day. Join us for a conversation about recognizing stress in ourselves and others, and how to have difficult conversations to help. Share ideas about how to avoid burnout and allow ourselves grace in challenging times.

AmeriCorps
Martin Luther King Jr. Day is the only federal holiday designated as a national day of service to encourage volunteerism across the country. AmeriCorps has established a searchable database for volunteer opportunities and resources.
Global Citizen
The Greater Philadelphia Martin Luther King Day of Serviceis the largest MLK Day event in the nation. Organizers focus on vital services and resources for children, seniors and families.
Points of Light
To honor Dr. King’s legacy each year, Points of Light offers unique opportunities to reflect on the gains we have made and re-commit to the work that remains as we strive for a more just society. Each year, projects focus on schools, local shelters and lending a helping hand—bringing to life the vision of communities working together to build a better future.

Grab–and–Go Volunteerism
The Rowan University Office of Volunteerism, Community Engagement & Commuter Services is offering Grab–and–Go volunteer packets at Suite 210 in the Chamberlain Student Center. Projects are worked on offsite and returned to this location (Tuesday–Friday). Projects include cards for healthcare workers, Valentine's Day cards and decorations for assisted living facilities and placemats for the Cathedral Kitchen in Camden.
The SHOP Donation Drop-Offs
The SHOP is Rowan University's on-campus food pantry and resource center for students in need. Donations of food, winter clothing, school supplies, cleaning supplies and personal care products can be dropped off at the Chamberlain Student Center at Suite 210 (outside of the Office of Volunteerism).
